What Information About You Do We Collect?
You may view content on this Site without providing any Personal Information. To post content to the site, however, you must register as a Member. As part of the registration process, you are asked to provide Personal Information, such as an e-mail address at which we may contact you, a User Name, your name, your gender, your birthdate, your location, health conditions and treatments, and photo. The only Personal Information required in order to register are your e-mail, User Name, and password. Other Personal Information is optional; you can skip entering other information and/or control who can see your information by managing your privacy settings. Upon registering, you become a Member. HPG, LLC makes every effort to allow you to retain the anonymity of your personal identity and you are free to choose a username and password that keeps your personal identity anonymous.
In addition, it is possible for you to provide Personal Information about yourself when you post content on the Service or communicate with other registered Members.
This Site may feature a form where you may voluntarily sign up to receive notifications about opportunities to share your personal health experiences, or other similar notifications. To opt-in to these notifications, you will be asked to provide Personal Information, such as your first and last name, an e-mail address at which we may contact you, a phone number (optional), and health conditions you wish to share. You do not have to be a Member to sign up for such notifications.
You can choose to opt out of such notifications at any time by:

- Contacting us using the form on the “Contact” page of the Site

We collect Non- Personal Information as you use different features of this Site so we can monitor the performance of the Site and Service and learn how different aspects of the Site and Service are used. What We Do With Your Personal Information
We use Personal Information that you provide to us in several ways. First, we use it to confirm your Membership, to understand better who is visiting our Site and using our Service, and to enable us to present content which might suit your interests. We do not share, sell, or otherwise disclose Personal Information (including your e-mail address) to any other third party that we do not control without your prior consent, except as required by law (see Legal Process, below), or as stated herein. For example, we do not rent our Member list to other companies. We may, however, provide other companies with aggregated data about our Members that does not contain contact or other individually identifiable Personal Information. Thus, for example, we may inform a health association of the number of Members we have on this Service, or the number of Members registered for our Service in a particular geographical region.
We may use the Personal Information you give us to send you information about additional opportunities that become available through HPG, LLC and its partners, and we may share basic information about you with our partners to determine if you might be eligible. For example, we may contact you to see whether you are interested in being considered for a volunteer opportunity to share your story. When you confirm your registration, your profile becomes visible to users of the Service and your profile may be found by users of the Service using the Service’s search features. You can control how your profile and the data it contains are shared using the privacy settings available to you in the account settings section of the Site.
HPG, LLC may disclose Personal Information to appropriate persons in circumstances where we have a good faith belief that a user is likely to cause bodily harm to him or herself or others, or as may be required under applicable laws.
You may modify or remove your Personal Information from our database by contacting HPG, LLC at email@example.com.
If you do not wish us to use or disclose Personal Information that you provide through this Site as disclosed in this Privacy Statement, you should deactivate your membership by notifying firstname.lastname@example.org and including “DEACTIVATE” in the subject line.
Links to Other Sites
It is possible that by posting text, video, and photo content in Member areas, you will disclose your own Personal Information. Please remember that any personal or other information that you disclose in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.
You may access and change Personal Information on your profile at any time by accessing your password-protected Profile.
What happens if I invite someone to join the Site?
If you expressly request that we send an invitation to become a member to someone who is not a member of the Site using the “Invite Your Friends” feature, we will automatically send one e-mail invitation to the e-mail address you provide to us. This information is stored on the Site, but we will not continue to e-mail the recipients after we have sent the one time e-mail invitation, unless the recipients choose to register with the Site.
HPG, LLC employs commercially reasonable security measures consistent with standard industry practice, to safeguard personal and other information collected through this Site. We believe these commercially reasonable practices provide adequate security to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of the information we collect on our Site. We also have established internal policies and procedures to limit access to Members’ Personal Information to only those employees who need the information to perform a specific job.
Children’s Personal Information
Consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act:
This Service does not collect, use, or disclose personal information (including online contact information) of children under the age of 13.
In the event that a child under the age of 13 posts personal information on the site, we will attempt to delete that information once we become aware of it.
HPG, LLC collects Non-Personal Information from you as you use the Site. Similar to other web services, HPG, LLC automatically records information based on your account activity and use of our Site. We do this to improve our Site, and to customize content and advertising, if any.
HPG, LLC collects the following types of Non-Personal Information, which we use in our own statistical analysis and/or which we may share with third parties that help us operate the Site, such as business vendors and partners.
- Aggregated Data. HPG, LLC collects user information and content (including private content) in the aggregate as you use our Site to analyze our overall user demographics and usage patterns. Aggregate data does not contain any individually identifiable information.
- De-Identified Data. HPG, LLC may create Non-Personal Information from Personal Information by excluding information (such as your name and other contact information) that would personally identify you.

Sale or Merger
If HPG, LLC is sold to or merges with another company not owned by HPG, LLC, you should expect that some or all of the Personal Information collected from this Site may be transferred to the buyer/surviving company. If so, HPG, LLC will seek to obligate the acquiring company to use any Personal Information transferred by this Site in a manner consistent with this Privacy Statement, but cannot guarantee that it will be able to impose that requirement, or that the acquiring company will comply.
If you do not wish the Personal Information you provide to be subject to this possibility, you should deactivate your membership by notifying email@example.com and including “DEACTIVATE” in the subject line.
What if I live outside of the United States?
HPG, LLC’s Site is hosted in the United States. If you are visiting our website from outside the United States, you are transferring your personal data into the United States when you use the Site. Many regions, such as the European Union, have data collection protections that differ from U.S. law.
You should be aware that HPG, LLC may be required to disclose your Personal Information to the government or other entities in connection with a legal process, such as in response to a valid subpoena, court order in judicial or regulatory proceedings, or pursuant to a valid law enforcement investigative demand.
